Minecraft Mod is the most recent modification to Minecraft, a very popular mod for the casual or “mod” gamer. Minecraft is an open-source game, first released by Mojang in July 2021. It’s a fully modifiable version of the original game, which can easily be downloaded through the official site. Currently, the mod has been released for a number of different versions.
If you’re new to the game (or if you haven’t played it for a while), the story of the game may be a little unclear. At the beginning, a young man named Isaac has fallen into a magical mystical mine and is stuck there for centuries. His only way of leaving is through the bottom level of the mine, guarded by monsters and creatures. When he finally makes his way out, he is confused and frightened, thinking he’s lost forever. However, with help from some other characters, including an ancient and powerful being, Isaac slowly becomes aware of his situation, and with his new friends, begins to develop the knowledge needed to escape.
Like many other mods for the game, this one adds a lot of content, mainly improving upon the vanilla game. The mod changes the player’s controls to give them a more “magic” type feel, including the ability to flip into a dragon form. There are also a number of tweaks made to the game itself. For example, instead of walking directly to your goal when you mine all the way to the end of the map, you now automatically go towards the door where you will pick up your new resources.
One of the coolest features of the mod is the MCM interface, or Minecraft Manager. Basically, it is just like using a mini game screen in World of Warcraft. You start out by choosing a game type, then choose a “goal” and put in “rules.” You can then customize your goals and put in things like “must collect x item(s) before the time limit,” “be at level x for y amount of time” etc. Once that’s done, you have to click on a “click” icon to trigger the game’s mechanics, like digging or picking up resources.
Unfortunately, the mod does not do anything magic for the game itself. It’s not like adding a cheat code that makes you fly or something. It does what it says, which is to add some “fun” to the gameplay – but that’s about all it does. Other than that, you should have fun with it.
I wouldn’t say that this mod is perfect. There are definitely some kinks to work out, but overall, it’s great. It does what it sets out to do, which is to give you a challenge. I feel that if people want to make their game more difficult, they should be able to. If you ever run into a tough spot in the game and need a way to get past it, I would recommend giving Aquaria a try.
